Summary: The basic function of this role within the COTE BLANCHE

MINING AND PROCESS DEPARTMENT is to perform routine detailed inspections of our

fixed asset equipment, including but not limited to, primary, secondary, and

tertiary crushing equipment, conveyor belts, screens, transfer points, chutes,

and mill structures. The inspection process will help with work identification

and planning purposes in order to aid our RAM PROCESS. This role will be

critical in identifying, prioritizing, and kitting fixed asset maintenance in

coordination with the Production Maintenance Coordinator.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities include

but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add ormodify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

  • Inspectionof mill conveyors, screens, crushers, and structures (operational andnon-operational):

  • Inspectscreen media to avoid oversize products

  • Inspectgearboxes and drive belts

  • Inspectelectrical motors

  • Inspectall wiring

  • Inspectconveyor belting for damage or belt lacing

  • Inspectsplices

  • Inspectrollers

  • Inspectskirting

  • Inspecttracking (ability to make minor adjustments)

  • Inspectguarding

  • Inspectsafety appliances (pull cords, speed switches, fire extinguishers, etc)

  • InspectYPS application systems

  • Inspectsampling systems

  • Inspectmagnets

  • Inspectbelt scales

  • Inspectthe skipping line, loading pocket, and loading bins/gates

  • Inspecttrench hoppers

  • Inspectsurface surge tank systems

  • Inspectfor accumulations of spillage and debris

  • Inspectthe condition of any belt cleaning systems

  • Developand log detailed work requests based on inspection findings

  • Workwith Production Maintenance Coordinator and Fixed Asset Maintenance crewon critical findings to prevent breakdowns

  • Reducebottlenecks in fixed assets through improved inspection and maintenanceprocesses

  • Attendnecessary prioritization meetings per RAM PROCESS

  • Set upjobs for Fixed Asset Maintenance Crew by ensuring stores has properlykitted planned work

  • Workwith the Production Maintenance Coordinator to have the correct equipmentavailable for the Fixed Asset Maintenance Crew.

  • Participatein field reviews with Fixed Asset Foreman, Production Maintenance Coordinator,Lead Mine Engineer, or operations leadership as necessary

  • Routinereview and development of our fixed asset inspection process

  • Ensurefixed asset operating parameters in coordination with Lead Mine Engineerand technical specifications

  • Participatingin the identification and implementation of reliability drivenimprovements

  • Performa variety of tasks that assist with the operation of the plant, includingcleaning, sweeping, and shoveling materials

  • Adherenceto all Compass Minerals safety rules for self and all other employees

Qualifications

Qualifications: To

perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each

Educationand Experience : AA, BS degree and/or 3 plus years of

effective technical, maintenance or production leadership experience. Technical,

production and/or maintenance experience in the current operating facility(s)

will be considered as highly desirable. May be required to complete formal

training in area of specialty.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with

computers and possess the ability to quickly master skills required to function

in CMMS. Must also be proficient in Office Suite. Proficiency in ERP systems with emphasis on

maintenance module.
