Summary:

The Building/Security Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating our reception area, providing administrative support to the HR team and ensuring building security and maintenance processes are maintained and followed for the corporate headquarters.

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the front desk to control access and ensure guests and customers have a positive experience at Compass Minerals headquarters

  • Develop and perform standard check in procedures to ensure visitor and employee safety

  • Partner with HR team to aiding in administrative projects and processes. Creates and maintains spreadsheets, labels, lists, address files and any other documents as requested

  • Assist Compass Minerals employees with security access needs and ensures protocols are followed

  • Support scheduling interviews and other various meetings as needed

  • Provide first level support for building maintenance inquiries and partners with CBRE when necessary

  • Operate and maintain front desk phone system, including routing phone calls

  • Liaise with internal departments and external customers. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary

  • Complete and submit security incident reports along with proposals to mitigate future risk

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement in critical situations to ensure implementation of security protocols

  • Coordinate fire, tornado and other emergency response drills and preparations

  • Maintain and train employees on security protocols.

  • Perform other related duties including backup support for office services as required

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent level of education

  • 5 years’ experience in like field

  • Background in administration, security, military or law enforcement

  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Must be approachable and have excellent customer service skills

  • Strong verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with partners at all levels

  • Solid organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines

  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost care and discretion

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
