Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:
Directly oversee the maintenance department, which typically consists of eight (8) personnel (hourly and salaried) and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work; ensuring work is completed in a safe and efficient manner; training.
Summary: Supervise and lead the maintenance department at the Wynyard facility. In consultation and collaboration with the Maintenance Superintendent and Operations Supervisor and/or Plant Manager establish maintenance priorities and schedule/assign appropriate personnel and resources to perform the work in a safe and efficient manner including maintenance team participation in capital project work as may be required. Develop and/or refine and implement equipment reliability and preventative maintenance programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
Support and participate actively in all site Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives.
Meet and help to establish targets on planned vs. unplanned work, mean time between failure on major equipment, work order backlog, and preventive and predictive maintenance schedule completion.
Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and/or system malfunctions and formulate appropriate repair plans and/or corrective actions.
Collaborate and work to improve the operation by identifying root causes to downtime and implement action plans to reduce occurrences.
Plan and schedule maintenance activities for department personnel.Coordinate with the appropriate departments to ensure proper support of scheduled maintenance.
Collaborate with engineering staff to implement suggestions and ideas from the continuous improvement process plan.
Maintain the E1 work order system and manage maintenance backlog.
Organize and maintain historical maintenance information and files.
Build and manage preventive maintenance schedule in E1.
Help to control maintenance department costs through effective utilization of personnel and materials.
Enforce and help to train maintenance personnel on safety standards.
Develop maintenance personnel to achieve goals set for the department.
Ensure the shop & work areas and parts storage areas are maintained in an organized & tidy manner.
Help to ensure appropriate and reasonable level of critical spares, and routine parts, supplies and materials are stocked and available.

Education and Experience:
Journeyman Certification in an applicable Trade or equivalent education/maintenance experience. Must have ten (10) years of overall manufacturing experience with direct work experience maintaining industrial equipment, conveyor & packaging systems, pumps, piping, rotating equipment, mobile equipment, valves and actuators, gates, hydraulic systems, and other miscellaneous equipment. Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. Must have good knowledge of welding procedures & techniques and extensive experience with preventive and predictive maintenance. Process plant experience and maintenance planning experience are a plus.
Will be required to become proficient in maintenance management software. Competence in Excel and Word. Ability to learn new software programs.
